Installation of the memory module is very straightforward. Typically, our customers complete it in just 5 minutes, with no special tools.

This tutorial applies to the following vehicles:

  • Seat Leon (2024+)
  • VW Golf 8.5 (2024+)
  • Cupra Formentor Facelift (2024+)
  • Audi A3 8Y (2024+)

Required tools

The only tools required are those for disconnecting battery.

  • 10 mm wrench

Installation procedure

  1. Move the driver's seat all the way back and close the windows.
  2. Cover the door sill to prevent scratches during installation. You can use a piece of tape for example.

  3. Disconnect the battery.
  4. Locate the gateway under the dashboard (part number 5QS 907 530) - it is easily accessible above the footwell on the driver's side - above the steering column. There is usually no cover in the way. Be aware that other control units have connectors similar to the plug-and-play wiring harness. Ensure you’ve correctly identified the gateway.
  5. Disconnect the 26-pin connector from the gateway.

  7. Connect the other end of the plug-and-play wiring harness to the gateway. In order to do so, make sure the connector lever is fully extended (see photos). Make sure the connector is pushed all the way into the gateway. Ensure it is securely fastened and the lever is fully clicked into place, locking it in position. 8. Plug the memory module into the plug-and-play wiring harness (if it isn't already) and secure it in a place where it won't obstruct anything.
  9. Make sure no part of the wiring harness and memory module touches any moving parts of the vehicle, such as the steering column.
  10. Ensure no part of the wiring harness and memory module touches any sharp edges where long-term exposure could cause damage. Follow applicable standards during installation.
  11. Reconnect the battery.
  12. Perform a test drive following the instructions below.

Test Drive

After reconnecting the battery and turning on the ignition, you will see numerous errors on the dashboard. Don't worry, that's just because the battery was disconnected previously. All those errors will disappear after driving approximately 100 meters. Once they disappear, restart the engine. Until then, the car will remain in a sort of limp mode, where many functions won't work, even after the dashboard errors have cleared. For example, attempting to disable Start-Stop will show an "Error: Start-Stop" message. Also note that you will have to select you driving profile again.

In summary, this is what to do after module installation:

  1. Start the engine
  2. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock
  3. Drive until all the errors disappear (usually less than 100 meters). Be very careful - many of the car functions will not work.
  4. Restart the engine
  5. Done!

After completing these series of step, your car will be ready as usual and you will have all the memory functions, enjoy!
